Modeling of Radial Flow on a Non-Contact End Effector for Robotic Handling of Non-Rigid Material
In this study a numerical model on radial flow and pressure distribution showing regions of negative values which tend to levitate products is developed. The end effector operates on the principle of generating a high-speed fluid flow between the end effector and product surface thereby creating a vacuum which levitates the product. The NavierStokes equations and the equation of continuity desc...
متن کاملExperimental Studies on Swirling Flow in a Vertical Circular Tube
Swirling flows are related to the spiral motion in the tangential direction in addition to the axial and radial direction using several swirl generators. These type of flows are used in combustion chambers to improve flame stability, heat exchanger to enhance heat transfer coefficients, agricultural spraying machines and some vertical pipes to move slurries or transport of materials. However, o...
متن کاملOn a linearisation method for Reiner-Rivlin swirling flow
The steady flow of a Reiner-Rivlin fluid with Joule heating and viscous dissipation is studied. We present a novel technique for accelerating the convergence of the spectral-homotopy analysis method. Solutions of the nonlinear momentum and energy equations are obtained using the improved spectral homotopy analysis method. Solutions were also generated using the spectral-homotopy analysis method...

متن کاملLayered Von Kármán’s swirling flow
Existence of an exact solution of the Navier-Stokes equations representing swirling flow consisting of two fluid layers is proven. It is assumed that the fluid in the bottom layer is injected into the swirl from a rotating disk. This describes the case when a disk melts in an ambient fluid and the melted fluid is removed by rotation of the disk.
